Summer Hair

July 8, 2010

Summer presents opportunities to give our hair a break from the normal styling routine. Previously I suggested Headbands to accessorize un-done hair. Here are a few more ideas to make sun-dried hair more presentable after a day spent at the beach/river/pool:

1. If your hair has a little wave but looks a little flat, curl only the flattest/frizziest pieces. Don’t worry about curling the underneath pieces, stick with the top and the front (the sections that show). Watch my Loose Curls video to see the technique to achieve those soft beachy waves.

2. When you feel like doing absolutely nothing to your hair, wear a hat. I love these summery fedoras. The natural woven material is effortlessly casual, but still chic enough to pull an outfit together.

Summer hair should look easy and effortless. It’s the season to embrace our natural texture and have fun with it!
